Andy Lee and
Johnathon Banks Victorious

MEMPHIS, TN – It didn’t take undefeated middleweight, Andy Lee (9-0, 6 KOs) long to destroy Clinton Bonds (4-9, 2 KOs) Friday night at the New Daisy on Beale Street.
After knocking Bonds down three times in the first round, Bonds waved his hand after the third knockdown. He had had enough! The official time was 2:05 of round one.
Bonds had real problems with Lee’s southpaw stance and cunning boxing ability which allowed Lee to keep total control of the fight from the opening bell. Bonds was never in the fight.
Undefeated NABO Cruiserweight, Johnathon Banks (16-0, 12 KOs) defeated Lloyd Bryan (22-16, 10 KOs) after an accidental head butt in the third round left Bryan unable to continue. Banks was in control of the bout and had won both the first and second rounds and was ahead in the third at the time of the stoppage.
The head butt caused a cut on Bryan’s head that was bleeding quite heavily and after being attended to by the paramedics, Bryan was extremely upset that the bout was not ruled a no contest due to the head butt coming before the end of the fourth round. He had to be restrained by several officials.
Both Lee and Banks fight out of the Kronk Gym in Detroit and are trained and managed by Hall of Fame trainer, Emanuel Steward.
After a couple days rest, both Banks and Lee will be heading to Austria to train for their upcoming fights on the Wladimir Klitschko undercard which will take place in Cologne, Germany on July 7.
